Belonging and Lost in Mongkok (2019)
For years I have been living near MK. I used to wander around the place aimlessly. It’s been a place of homecoming for me. In July 2003, with the launch of the Individual Visit Scheme, large amount of mainland tourists visited Hong Kong. This peculiar condition implies disturbance, chaos and even a breakdown of civilization. The feelings of lost is common when we travel in urbanized environment. Images created are autobiographical psychogeography, documenting the psychological connection between physical environment and people drifting through the place. The images can be interpreted as a self-therapeutic journey. 歸屬與迷失：旺角 究竟人對某個地方產生“歸屬感”是個怎樣的概念？ 多年來，由於一直居住在旺角附近的地區，下班後曾經無數次在這地方流連忘返。對我來說，這地方就親切如自己的家。 2003年7月，隨著自由行計劃實施，旺角的街道上擠滿了大陸人，到處都是類似的商店。這種過多和重複的現象是如此令人不安。身處在這樣的環境，加上近年的社會事件，很容易令人變得“迷失”。
