A Quiet Place
Since I have moved to Kowloon, I used to take minibus from home to Mongkok and take MTR to go to work. It has been over 20 years for me to use Mongkok as a transit point for going to work and going back home. Of course, it is a place where Hong Kong people like to go for all sorts of entertainments and shopping activities. Mongkok has been a place full of unforgettable memories. Since the government implemented the “Individual Visit Scheme” on 28 July 2003, allowing travelers from Mainland China to visit Hong Kong on an individual basis, the outlook of this district has changed a lot. The place became crowded with mainland tourists and the streets were occupied with many drug stores and jewelry gold shops. Using pinhole camera as a tool, I intend to take photos of this district without people on the streets. In this perspective, I hope we can restore the true outlook of our city.
